Charity Golf Classic

Play some golf and help raise funds for worthwhile causes at the Charity Golf Classic!

This annual event has raised over $560,000 for a number of different charities throughout the years that benefit various residents and organizations in Glendale Heights.

We hope that you will help us make this event a success by becoming a sponsor or participating in the day's activities. We invite all golfers to sign up as individuals or as a team at just $175 per golfer or join us for a delicious dinner for just $100 and experience an array of food.




Historic House Open Houses

Saturday, August 30, 2025, 10:00am - Saturday, September 27, 2025, 12:00pm, Historic House (311 Windy Point Drive)

The Village of Glendale Heights is excited to offer self-guided tours of the Historic House on the fourth Saturday of every month this summer! Stop by any time between 10:00 am and noon to take a step back in time. Originally built in 1888, this community treasure was donated by Merle Reskin in 1999 to help share the rich history of our village.

Patriot Day Ceremony

Thursday, September 11, 2025, 7:15pm - 8:00pm, Village Hall (300 Civic Center Plaza)

The Village of Glendale Heights will honor those lost on September 11, 2001, with a ceremony on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:15 pm. A silent parade of emergency vehicles will begin at Reskin Elementary School (1555 Ardmore Ave) and proceed west on Fullerton Avenue to Village Hall (300 Civic Center Plaza), where a brief remembrance will follow. Residents are encouraged to display American Flags to honor the victims and thank emergency personnel. Additional flags will be placed along the parade route, and 2,977 flags will be displayed at Village Hall in tribute.



Movie with a Cop at the Sports Hub

Join us on Friday, September 12, at the Sports Hub for a fun-filled movie night with some of Glendale Heights Police Department’s finest. We will be showing The Goonies in the gym, so bring a fluffy blanket or a comfy chair (or both!) and get ready to relax with friends and family.

We will provide the popcorn, so just bring yourself and get cozy for a memorable night!



Community Garage Sale

Sunday, September 21, 2025, 9:00am - 2:00pm, Camera Park (101 E Fullerton Ave)

Clear out the clutter and make some extra cash at our Community Garage Sale! Reserve your 10' x 10' space at Camera Park and sell your gently used items to treasure hunters from all over. Spaces are just $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Register online or in person at the Sports Hub.

Nothing to sell? Come out and shop the bargains! Admission to the event is FREE!




Show & Shine Car Show and Swap Meet

Sunday, September 21, 2025, 10:00am - 3:30pm, Camera Park (101 E Fullerton Avenue)

The Village of Glendale Heights is excited to present the annual Show & Shine Car Show and Swap Meet on September 21 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm at Camera Park. The car show includes cars, food, music, games and crafts. Viewing admission is free! (Rain date is September 28).

Be sure to be at the Show & Shine Car Show between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm to see the DeLorean on display. Attendees will have the opportunity to view this iconic vehicle up close during the event.

The Show & Shine Car Show features 18 vehicle classes, with first, second and third place trophies awarded in each class, plus 11 specialty trophies including Best in Show. Vehicles can start arriving as early as 8:00 am. Voting for the car owners occurs between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Registration is $12 until September 13. Starting on September 14, the price increases to $15. Registration for the Swap Meet and Craft Fair vendors is $15. The registration form is included on the event flyer.

Cops & Bobbers: Fishing Derby Event

Saturday, September 27, 2025, 9:00am - 11:30am, Hertiage Park (1736 Paul Avenue)

Get ready to cast your line at the annual Cops & Bobbers event! This FREE event invites Glendale Heights residents to enjoy a day of fishing alongside local police officers, firefighters, and paramedics.
Participants sign up the morning of the event - no pre-registration required.

Try your luck and see if you can reel in the heaviest catch! Awards will be given for the biggest fish in each age group: 6 & Under, Ages 7 - 10 and Ages 11 - 15.

Harvest Fest

Fall is in the air, and that means it's time for our beloved Annual Harvest Fest! Come out and celebrate the season at this fun-filled community event that is fun for the whole family!

Halloween in the Heights House Decorating Contest

Who's got the spookiest house in Glendale Heights? This contest is open to all Glendale Heights residents. Free registration opens on October 1. Awards will be given to the top 3 decorated homes and winners announced on Halloween!

Family Health & Safety Fair

The annual Family Health and Safety Fair is a fantastic FREE event for all ages! Bring your family and friends to learn more about health, safety, and local resources. The goal of this fair is to have fun and connect the Glendale Heights community with services and information to support everyday safety and wellness.

Family Fitness Fun Day

Sunday, October 12, 2025, 9:00am - 12:00pm, Sports Hub (250 Civic Center Plaza)

Come on out to the Sports Hub with your family and enjoy a day of fitness and fun! Participation is FREE but registration is required prior to the event. Registration opens Tuesday, September 2, and closes Thursday, October 9. Be sure to sign up before the deadline!

- Free entrance to our Sports Hub Fitness Center for adults 18 and older! Our personal trainer will be on site to help with any questions.
- Open Gym available for everyone in your family. Open gym includes: pickleball, basketball, soccer on the turf field, and volleyball!
- Virtual fitness classes available in Studio 2! These classes include: yoga, ab & core workouts, stretching classes and many more!
- Ping pong and bocce ball will be available for all ages at our front desk upon request!
- Lunch will be provided and plenty of giveaways for everyone to enjoy!

Safety Town Halloween

The Glendale Heights Police Department encourages children to trick-or-treat down the streets of Safety Town on October 31, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Stop by Safety Town and trick-or-treat at this family-friendly event! There will be friendly ghosts and goblins, fairies and witches, and other characters to treat each child.

Children should bring a container or bag to collect candy.
