Game Lab: Retro Style (Ages 8-14)

Retro games meet Ninjas, Ninjas meet retro games. In this camp, Ninjas use Microsoft MakeCode Arcade to bring iconic arcade games to new life with fresh takes. Campers will design and code their own games inspired by classic platformers and adventure genres. The excitement doesn’t end there—at the culmination of the camp, they’ll see their creations come to life on handheld gaming devices, ready to play and share with friends. This hands-on experience not only reinforces their learning but also sparks joy and confidence as they showcase their achievements. Location: Code Ninjas in Hoffman Estates

Minecraft: Modder Gamers (Ages 8-14)

This camp is the ultimate playground for kids who dream of altering and enhancing their Minecraft worlds. Ninjas will transform Minecraft Java Edition into a personalized adventure by harnessing the power of MCreator to craft their own incredible mods. They’ll create custom elements like ore, blocks, ingot, crafting recipes, weapons, armor, potions, custom biomes... the list goes on. And yes, it even includes nuclear TNT! Ninjas will also get hands-on experience with Blockbench and learn how to code procedures in MCreator with block language. Time to turn those modding visions into reality! Paint a Pot (Ages 14 & Up)

6:00pm - 7:00pm

Pick out a piece of pottery, pick the paint colors. Sit down and paint your piece of pottery. The process is extremely simple. It’s art therapy for the young and old! Your piece will be available for pick up at the Sports Hub 8/12. Your finished item is microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. Finished pottery is non-toxic so it’s safe to eat from. An additional fee applies for larger pieces (fee may be paid via card or Apple pay on site).
